About the Role
As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing towards the development of our systems and processes, as well as auxiliary services where needed.
Here at Arbor, you will be working extensively with PHP and helping to deliver a fantastic product to schools throughout the UK.
What you'll be doing
Work closely with the Engineering Manager to help develop feature requests
Produce well written code using modern design patterns and methods
Developing and delivering a high quality features to enhance the user experience
Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team
Participate in code reviews and pair programming with colleagues
Share knowledge with the wider team and participate in tech-talks, as well as team based learning sessions
About you
Considerable experience in PHP software development
Good understanding of modern software engineering principles
A positive and proactive attitude to problem solving
A team player, who is willing to help where they can and can help foster further collaboration
Experience of working within Agile environments, such as Scrum or KanBan
Desirable Skills:
Experience of developing Enterprise solutions/applications
Exposure to cloud infrastructure or serverless development
Familiarity with containerisation with products, such as Docker
The Hiring Process:
To start, we’ll kick things off with a 30 minute video call with a member of the Talent team.
Next up, you will have a 1 hour call with one of our Engineering Leads to discuss the role, as well as your experience, further
After that, we’ll want you to attend a final interview and complete a technical assessment too, which typically takes 2 hours to complete
