Channel Sales Development Representative

Channel Sales Development Representative

About the role

You will help generate and convert leads to meetings from Arbor’s partner network, mainly through joint events and direct referrals. You will do this by developing strong relationships with referral and support partners, giving them a known and trusted Sales Development contact at Arbor. With your advice and support, they’ll make consistent, high-quality referrals, introducing Arbor directly to schools and MATs who are ready to switch MIS. You’ll then qualify those leads, book demonstrations and keep the partner updated on progress, bringing them back in to help if needed.

In your first 6 months you will…

  • Be the first person in this role at Arbor with the ability to shape the dimensions of the position and how it has impact
  • Learn how to qualify the full spectrum of our market including primary, secondary, and special schools and Multi Academy Trusts
  • Manage the partner channels (events, referrals) and work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager on the success of these channels
  • Get to know a shortlist of partners who are key to Arbor’s growth target this year and establish practices that make them more successful
  • Learn how to write compelling sales emails in the Arbor House Style with training from our Marketing team

Core responsibilities

  • Qualifying leads and booking meetings with primaries, specials, secondaries and MATs - you might escalate complex qualification to the Senior SDR
  • Perform high-quality qualification across all phases in line with frameworks developed by the specialists but adapted to Partner-supported schools where appropriate
  • Working with our Senior Marketing Manager on developing Hubspot for Partners and making it useful for Sales Development
  • Planning the Sales Development response to events, delegating leads to the wider SDR team when needed, planning this in advance with them and briefing them
  • Nurturing relationships with key referral and support partners who are strategically key to Arbor’s growth this year - this would involve update on leads and booking meetings, feedback from schools, encouragement and support
  • Sharing intel and feedback from schools (about partners) or partners (about schools) with the Sales and Marketing teams
  • Supporting marketing activities and the effective and appropriate uptake of frameworks
  • Supporting the rest of the Sales Development team to spot opportunities for where we need new partners in territories
  • Checking in on the health of sales further down the pipeline in relation to each partner, working with Partnership Managers and data to achieve this

About you

  • Strong commercial acumen, knowledge of the partner program and an understanding of our ambitions and blockers with partners
  • Understanding of the school terrain, academies, LA schools and how they work and buy differently
  • Imaginative, problem-solving, and self-motivated with your work
  • Strong ability to build your own scalable processes, using internal consultation with a clear focus on outcomes and efficiency
  • Primary, Secondary, Special and MAT qualification ability desirable
  • Able to accurately judge the readiness of a prospect to engage with Arbor and to either bring that engagement forward or successfully re-engage at a later date
  • A proven ability of managing leads in the present and future regardless of deal value, so particularly primary deals
  • Working with Marketing and Sales to coordinate response to campaigns and events
  • Comfortable with the delegation of leads around peak periods of Partner events and referrals
  • Good at building relationships both externally and internally with examples of achieving your goals with others
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to identify and implement volume sales tactics with partner events and referrals
  • Nurtures and qualifies leads to a very high standard, handing over to sales when the school is ready to buy not just ready to meet, extremely strong on qualifying time and talking about the right time for the school to buy
  • Interested in product and potentially learning to do light demos of Arbor
