Role Overview

As Brand and Content Marketing Manager you’ll be responsible for building thought leadership and authority amongst schools and multi-academy trusts via content of all kinds, including books, videos, and whitepapers. You’ll drive inbound traffic and leads to Arbor through our blog and social media channels, and create content which converts leads in Hubspot. You’ll also play a key role in managing our brand strategy internally and externally.

A day in the life of Brand and Content Marketing Manager at Arbor

As Brand and Content Marketing Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with the Demand Generation and Product Marketing sides of our Marketing Team, as well as across the business through our Brand Guild.

  • Plan, write, commission, edit and post our blogs, owning our overall blog strategy. Ensure our blog drives inbound traffic to our website
  • Identify thought leadership topics for key prospect segments e.g. secondary school admins, or MAT COOs
  • Build out content relating to chosen topics - such as ebooks, whitepapers, blogs, and event ideas - which drive inbound leads and interest in our brand
  • Manage all our social media sites - Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Work with the Head of Marketing on brand strategy initiatives
  • Be the go-to person at Arbor for checking whether ideas, copy, and design fit with our overall brand strategy
  • Own our Brand Guidelines, and run brand training on an ad hoc basis
  • Become an expert in our tone of voice and house style
  • Work closely with our Freelance Designers to ensure our content fits our brand, and is of a high standard
  • Work with Product Marketing to ensure our video content meets Sales Team needs. This includes: video for social, creating or commissioning product demo videos, and maintaining our overall company intro video
  • Manage and update our digital assets as required e.g. our logos and product images

Role Progression 

Within 1 month, you’ll: 

  • Be confident with our brand strategy and house style
  • Have met several customers to build your understanding of their needs and pain points
  • Have started work on at least one new thought leadership piece
  • Be managing our blog and social media independently

Within 3 months, you’ll: 

  • Have updated our blog and social media strategy
  • Have produced content to help us build awareness amongst key segments
  • Be confident training new team members on our brand and tone of voice
  • Be scoping brand opportunities for Arbor

Within 6 months, you’ll: 

  • Be feeding into our overall brand strategy and direction
  • Have built out a new content library for our Marketing and Sales teams
  • Be a pro with Hubspot
  • Be trusted as the voice of Arbor across the business

About you

  • You have previous experience working in Brand or Content Marketing, ideally in a tech or SaaS!
  • You're a brilliant copywriter - you love writing, know how to make copy shine, and are an expert at moving between short and long form copywriting
  • You have an editorial mindset, with an ability to predict audience preferences
  • Keen researcher - you are a pro at digging into customer pain points, and using those insights to build compelling, exciting content (such as blogs, ebooks, and whitepapers)
  • Excellent project manager - you’re able to work across multiple deadlines ease
  • Strong design aptitude - you know how to work well with Designers to create beautiful content and collateral
  • Confident working with a CMS (WordPress), and across our social media sites (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • Strong team player, with a bias for action

Bonus points for any of the following:

    • Video editing skills
    • Able to use InDesign or similar software
    • Knowledge of SEO
    • Experience working with PR agencies
